Media Merchants seem to be doing something right, as recent growth has called for the creation of two new roles to manage the company’s escalating success. Tony Carrier has been appointed as Operations Manager and Stuart Danahay will take the role of General Manager. As one of Australia’s leading full-service retail advertising agencies, Media Merchants is confident the restructuring effort will continue its forward momentum across both its Brisbane and Sydney offices.
Tony Carrier is already a familiar face in the Media Merchants clan, having run the Sydney office for two years. He’s also had an impressive run of over twenty years in the retail sector, making him the perfect pick for the job.
“I am really looking forward to this opportunity and welcome the chance to build on what is already a successful business,” says Tony.
Stuart Danahay’s arrival at Media Merchants also marks an exciting turning point in the evolutionary process of the core business. As the new General Manager, he brings a wealth of insight and experience from broad range of industries – including retail, manufacturing and financial services. Stuart has previously held the role of General Manager for national sporting goods retailer Amart All Sports, and senior management positions in Human Resources, Marketing, Strategy and Operations. His contribution to Media Merchants’ established brains trust of experts and forward thinkers promises great things in the near future.
Media Merchants’ founder– Managing Director James Fitzgerald and Director Mark Lias – will stay on board in their current roles, helping their creation evolve with the changing landscape of the advertising world.
Media Merchants continues to increase their foothold in the digital arena with the appointment of Todd Martin as Digital Director.
Todd brings with him over 20 years of experience in the digital arena and has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands – including Microsoft, Disney and P&O – in territories across the USA, UK, Japan, China and the Asia Pacific. In his new position, Todd will oversee digital business and marketing strategies, and the development of digital products for new and existing clients.
“I have a passion for the psychology of engagement – the user experience as a starting point for strategy and the creation and integration of social eco-systems,” Todd says.
The structural changes have been a necessary step for the company, ensuring that projected growth be managed effectively and also to ensure the agency’s current clientele receive Media Merchants’ unmistakable World Class Service.
